   It's true. Someone with Edelman's numbers shouldn't be in the Hall of Fame. UNLESS they have the second most post season yards and receptions in NFL history. Against the greatest competition there is... he was one of the greatest.

    So instead of making the most of the Aaron Rodgers years you draft a Qb who sits in street clothes the first year. He's not Even your backup and you traded up to get him? Most teams had a 2nd round grade on JL. Now you could save cap hit and you don't? Because QBS like Rodgers grow on trees I guess 🙄.

    Talk of smoltz took me back to great memories of prime braves. Maddox, smoltz, and glavine were an amazing combo of starters, with John rocker for a period being an amazing closer, until his incident. Smoltz also was great for pivoting to a closer for a while, and did an amazing job at it. His whole career with that beard and balding head, he looked like he was 47 years old. Wise beyond his years I suppose.

    Second most post season receptions and yards in NFL history. That's not something you can say about all those other guys. And it matters. It matters more than regular season stats. I thought Edelman played in a bunch more playoff games than Rice. That's why he was approaching his playoff stats. Nope. Rice played in 10 more playoff games.

    As a Jets fan, I'd NEVER root for the Miami Dolphins. EVER. Except when Chad took them to the playoffs. He's such a pro, gave us all he had, he's so smart he could do absolutely anything he wants, even outside of football.

    That's the best reasoning for Edelman in the Hall of Fame that I've heard. To those pointing at his regular season numbers... Not only should post season be considered for the Hall of Fame... it should be the most important consideration. As it is for football generally.

    To tell the story of football in the 2010s the HoF will need play after play by Julian Edelman. So many of biggest, toughest, most clutch plays of the decade came from him on the biggest stages. Is this not what the Hall of Fame is for? Give this man his due. He's earned it.

    As a Patriots fan, Edelman is not a hall of famer. I do think he’ll get in though. I think a fair comp is Eli. Neither should be in the hall, but they have had similar types of careers. Not ever elite in the regular season or even thought to be in the top of the league at their position, but always came through in the playoffs and in the big moments. Both will get in eventually (Manning way before Edelman), but I don’t think either should. If there was a hall of fame for postseason only, then Edelman and Manning are first ballot

    So let’s remove the 3 rings, Super Bowl MVP and one of the biggest clutch catches ever out of the equation (that’s a lot to just ignore), the blemish I hear against Edelman is his production. While his regular season numbers are hardly awe inspiring, he is the second most productive post season receiver in the history of the NFL. When you look through the history of the game only the GOAT receiver has him beat. I’m sorry, that’s production and that’s production at the most important time. The HOF is about your value, an indelible mark you left on the game, Julian did just that. He’s done it an unconventional way. What he lacks in the jaw dropping numbers of a D Hop, (not comparing them, calm down) he makes up for in the fact that in 20/30 years from now when they’re showing highlights of the Patriots dynasty or when people look at post season history and record books his name and face will pop up.

    I’m a pats fan who loves Jules but if the HOF is supposed to mean anything JE can’t be in it. And wasn’t it like 2 months ago Colin said to be HOF his standard was top 5 for 2 contracts? Edelman was never that.

    The reason you're hearing "he's not a HOFer" on ESPN and ESPN radio is because he's White. Instead of celebrating the guy, they immediately knock Edelman for not being a HOFer. If he was black, everything you'd hear would be excuses, defending him on how he IS a HOFer..
